On Friday we headed off towards Snag Lake in the Lassen Wilderness, but were pulled up short by a major leg issue with one of our party. We ended up car camping at the Juniper Lake campground. I discovered the trailhead to Mt. Harkness was two campsites away so the next morning I headed up. The fire lookout up there has a commanding view of Lake Almanor, Drakesbad, the entire Park and Caribou Wilderness. Here’s a panoramic from Brokeoff to the Caribou Wilderness. Click on it to see the high res version — give it some time to load, it’s a large file.
That’s Juniper Lake in the middle and you can just make out Cinder Cone behind the right side of Juniper Lake.
